A man in his early 20s was found floating in Lake Mendota still alive with no signs of foul play and has been transported to the hospital. 

MPD attempting to identify body found in Lake Mendota Friday morning

A body was found floating in Lake Mendota near Lake Street early Friday morning.

The Madison Police and Fire Departments arrived to the scene around 6 a.m. and determined the person to be a white male with dark hair who is five foot six inches in his early 20s. 

He was wearing a dark colored sweatshirt, white t-shirt, gray sweatpants, and tennis shoes that are gray, black, and red according to the incident report. 

The man is still alive and has been hospitalized. The police are currently attempting to identify him. 

No evidence shows signs of foul play, according to the police.
