The driver, 42-year-old Illinois resident David J. Stovall, struck a 27-year-old Madison man while he was crossing West Johnson Street. Stovall was making a left turn onto West Johnson Street after going south on North Frances Street, colliding with the pedestrian, MPD Lt. Eric Tripke wrote in the report.

The victim, who was transported to a local hospital, had injured his head and was concussed during the incident. The report categorized the injuries as not life-threatening.

The pedestrian’s name has not been released at this time.
