Woman struck by intoxicated driver near Edgewood College

An intoxicated woman driving a red jeep hit a 65-year-old Madison woman crossing Monroe Street at Commonwealth Avenue Tuesday afternoon, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, MPD Public Information Officer Joel DeSpain wrote in the report.

MPD arrested the driver, Wednesday E. Reich-Jacoby, 47, and issued her three citations, including operating while intoxicated-causing injury, operating without a valid license and violating a red traffic signal.

Reich-Jacoby was also taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries, according to the report.
