A man broke into a home on the 1200 block of East Dayton Street Friday night, according to a report by Madison Police Department Spokesperson Joel DeSpain.
The man entered after breaking a glass door with a rock, according to DeSpain. One resident was present during the break-in and after hearing the noise, the resident shined a flashlight on the burglar.
The victim contacted police at approximately 10:51 p.m. to report the incident before the burglar fled the scene.
DeSpain referred to the man as a burglar but the man allegedly did not escape with anything since the victim told police that nothing appeared to be missing.
