UW-Madison senior runs for Dane County Board

University of Wisconsin-Madison senior Chris Hoffman announced his candidacy for County Board Supervisor Wednesday, according to a press release.

Hoffman said he hopes to represent student interests for Dane County’s District 5 seat by, “helping students to connect with the county board and help them understand what county board does to them.”

Hoffman served as College Democrats chair and said this experience was a good leadership opportunity and gave him exposure to current county officials who could “enact some pretty progressive values.”

After graduating, Hoffman said he plans on living close to campus and continuing to connect with students, possibly with town hall-style meetings.

“I’m really excited and enthusiastic to talk to as many students as possible and get their input on what they think their county government can do for them,” Hoffman said. “I want to collaborate across student orgs and get a broad, diverse perspective.”

The primary elections will take place in February and elections will be held April 1.
