Police found a University of Wisconsin-Madison student unconscious at the bottom of a stairwell in a downtown building Sunday.
Madison Police Department officers found the 21-year-old student around 1:40 a.m. Sunday at 411 Hawthorne Ct. after responding to a call about a person who was down, according to a police incident report.
The report said the victim had a large laceration on his head and was bleeding and unconscious, but officers do not know what caused the injuries.
The man was transported and admitted to a nearby hospital, though he remained unconscious throughout, according to the report.
According to the report, MPD is continuing an investigation into the incident. There are no known suspects.
