The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s weekly student newspaper, The UWM Post, announced Monday it will no longer publish a print edition, choosing instead to create a fully online medium.
The UWM Post has published a print edition of their newspaper for 56 years, according to its website. However, UWM Post Editor in Chief Zach Erdmann said the paper’s editors decided to stop printing due to “financial strain.”
Erdmann also said moving the paper online will allow The UWM Post to reach students in a more “fun” and interactive way.
“For students, its better because now their news is where they are,” Erdmann said. “We’re not wasting our time and our money printing news that isn’t being read. We can now put all that energy and all that time making really well-done news that students can access and can use.”
