The Walgreens drug store on South Park Street was robbed after a man grabbed hands full of cash from the store's register Friday morning, according to Madison Police.
The suspect put a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup on the counter in front of the store's clerk.
""The man handed her some change and the young employee opened the cash register,"" Madison Police Department spokesperson Joel DeSpain said in a statement.
Police said the suspect began to yell something that sounded like ""give me the money,"" but did not wait for the clerk to give him any cash.
The suspect then reached into the register and grabbed as many dollar bills as he could before leaving the store, DeSpain said.
""The rattled clerk said she did not recognize the man,"" DeSpain said in a statement.
The suspect is said to be a male, 20-30 years old with a medium to stocky build. At the time of the incident, the suspect's hair was worn in braids, was wearing a black jacket and dark jeans, police said.
