A Reedsburg man was arrested early Friday morning for choking two customers at Milio's Sandwiches after he became enraged because he was unable to find a seat at the establishment.
According to a police report, Madison police were called to Milio's, 540 University Ave., around 2:30 a.m. after reports that two customers were attacked. The attacker, Jan Rabine, 29, from Reedsburg, had come into the sandwich shop and was furious because all the seats in the restaurant were occupied.
A 23-year-old man then reportedly asked Rabine to calm down. Rabine responded by slapping the man in the face and choking him for 25 to 30 seconds. The victim told police he felt as though he was going to pass out.
A 22-year-old friend of the victim tried to intervene but was also punched in the face and choked by a second suspect. Both suspects ran off, but police were able to locate Rabine in the 400 block of West Gilman Street.
Rabine was arrested and tentatively charged with two counts of strangulation and battery.
