A Madison Police officer arrested an intoxicated woman in her driveway early Saturday morning after she reportedly eluded the officer's sirens and engaged in a car chase.
According to a police report, the officer spotted the suspect's car in front of him moving erratically across the southbound lanes of John Nolen Drive. The officer then turned on his sirens as the suspect headed eastbound on the Beltline Highway. The suspect then avoided the officer by driving from the Beltline to Monona Drive, to Stoughton Road, then back to the Beltline, to Highway 14, to McCoy Road and finally to her Fitchburg home.
The police report cites that during the chase, the suspect hit a guardrail and evaded two sets of road spikes. The driver was arrested in the driveway of her home after getting out of her car.
The suspect, 24-year-old Kristy Hulbert, was arrested and tentatively charged with Eluding, OMVI - 2nd offense, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration - 2nd offense, Imprudent Speed and Deviating from Traffic Lane.
