Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced Thursday he will drop the appeal of his case against the Government Accountability Board.
This announcement was in response to the board's decision to check voter information dating back to June 1, 2006.
Van Hollen sued the GAB in September, alleging they were not checking voter information in compliance with the Help America Vote Act. The Dane County Circuit Court dismissed the case in October, but Van Hollen had planned to appeal its decision.
My appeal of the Dane County Circuit Court's erroneous decision is also now unnecessary,"" Van Hollen said in a statement, but also said he wished the board had agreed to do the checks months ago.
