A 16-year-old female reported a suspicious encounter she had on Friday, January 9 to Madison police.
According to a police report, the victim was asked if she wanted a ride from an unknown male driving a dark-colored SUV around 8:00 p.m. The victim told police the man approached her as she was crossing a pedestrian bridge that connects West and East Badger Road. The victim reportedly saw the man again as she got to the other side of the bridge. She believes the man was looking to pay for sex.
The victim reported the incident after a female acquaintance said a similarly described man, also in a SUV, followed her as she walked in the same area.
The suspicious person is described as a Hispanic male, late 40s, short black hair, with a slight accent. He was driving a dark-colored, possibly green, SUV-type truck.
