A domestic fight July 15 on Madison's South Side left one man injured and a woman dead, according to police.
According to the Madison Police Department, police were called to an apartment inside 910 West Badger Road to investigate reports of a stabbing. At the apartment, police discovered an adult woman dead from apparent stab wounds. Police also found an injured male, later identified as Madison resident Daniel L. Wright, 50, who also appeared to have suffered stab wounds.
Police transported Wright to a local hospital where doctors said his wounds were non-life threatening.
According to a July 16 police report, MPD detectives believe the unidentified woman died after she and Wright engaged in a violent domestic fight. Police said they do not believe any third party member was involved in the homicide.
The Dane County Coroner's office is scheduled to perform an autopsy July 16 and is expected to establish a cause of death and release the victim's name, according to police. As of July 16, Madison police have not arrested Wright on any charges related to the murder.
