UW-Madison senior Suchita Shah will compete in the Jeopardy! 2008 College Championship,"" game show officials announced Friday.
Shah will join 14 other college students from across the country at the Kohl Center on April 11 and 12 to compete for the $100,000 grand prize.
""I'm definitely very nervous,"" Shah said. ""It's definitely an exciting opportunity, and I'm excited it's being filmed right here in Madison.""
Shah auditioned for the show April 3 when ""Jeopardy!"" contestant coordinators stopped at Memorial Union. A video camera crew surprised her with the announcement Friday afternoon while she led prospective students as a campus tour guide.
The show will air nationally for two weeks starting May 5. Shah will appear in one of the first five episodes, moving to the semi-finals if she wins during the first week or is one of the next four highest money winners.
""I'm trying to cram all the random trivia and pop culture and general knowledge as I can from now until Friday,"" Shah said.
Shah said her dream ""Jeopardy!"" category would be chemistry.
