A Week of Violence: Two wounded in seperate shootings, police say incidents are related

The Madison Police Department is currently investigating three Wednesday shooting incidents which police believe to be related.

A man was shot in his vehicle in an attempted armed robbery in the parking lot of Selective Video on the West Beltline Highway, according to the police report. MPD public information office Joel DeSpain said the man was taken to an area hospital and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police said a second man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg shortly after the first victim. According to DeSpain, police believe the injury was self-inflicted and possibly a result of a scuffle inside the vehicle during the initial shooting.

A third shooting took place in the area of South Park Street and West Badger Road. Shots were fired at a vehicle but no one was injured from the incident, according to DeSpain.

No one has been arrested at this time, but investigatiors are questioning several people involved.
