A UW-Madison student dressed as mascot Bucky Badger at Saturday's hockey game against North Dakota will receive an apology from a Sioux hockey player who slashed him on the shins, The Capital

Times reported Tuesday.

According to TCT, Sioux defenseman Joe Finley was captured on videotape slashing Bucky, played by UW-Madison student David Blanchard, with his hockey stick before Saturday's game.

Western Collegiate Hockey Association commissioner Bruce McLeod said Finley must give Blanchard a written apology, TCT reported.

A fight ensued in the final minutes of Saturday's game, resulting in a forced exit of five players from each team.

None of the 10 players will miss their team's next game, which is Friday at Colorado College for Wisconsin.

After reviewing videotape of the brawl, McLeod said there would be no further penalties assessed, according to TCT.
