A UW-Madison student was arrested early Saturday morning after he shattered a window at a house on Dayton Street and then attempted to flee the scene.
The altercation began with the suspect, who was intoxicated at the time, yelling at two victims. The victims ignored the man, but after five minutes of obscenities and threats, the victims announced plans to call the police. The suspect became upset and punched a window out and took off running.
The Madison Police Department then received a call from one of the two victims who was chasing the suspect on foot. The police responded and found the victim and the suspect running down an alley near new Ogg Hall. A policeman cornered the suspect, who tried to get away from the officer, and arrested him on the spot.
The suspect faces several charges - disorderly conduct, damage to property and underage drinking. He could also face university sanctions.
