Sharon Pero, the UW-Madison administrator in charge of managing the UW-Madison timetable and other key features on the PeopleSoft Student Center system, died suddenly at her home over the weekend at the age of 58.
She was going to receive an Academic Staff Excellence award May 14 for successfully undertaking the complicated task of ""overseeing the extraordinarily detailed University Timetable,"" according to a University Communications release.
""Not only was she the talent behind one of most complex, difficult and stressful projects on campus, she was a mentor and ‘go-to' person for many of her colleagues,"" said Joanne Berg, vice provost for enrollment management of Pero's work as the assistant registrar for Timetable and Classroom Scheduling in the UW-Madison Office of the Registrar. ""We are deeply saddened by her loss.""
Pero's cause of death has not yet been determined, according to the release.
