A man is in custody after allegedly biting a Madison police officer's face after being transported to UW Hospital for an evaluation, police said.
According to a police report, Antonio Fleming, a 30-year-old male, was taken by police to the hospital for an unknown assessment on Saturday, shortly after 2:00 p.m. While at the hospital, Fleming reportedly attacked a police officer, biting him on the right side of his face.
Police said several officers assisted in restraining Fleming from doing further harm to the officer.
Fleming remains in custody for battery to a police officer. The officer has since been treated and released for his injuries.
