Two people hailing from outside Wisconsin plan to buy the rights to the once-troublesome Club Majestic.
Mayor Dave Cieslewicz's spokesperson George Twigg said the names of the potential new owners have not been released to the public. He said the mayor would like to see Club Majestic, 115 King St., become a safe environment for Madisonians to enjoy the music scene.
""What the mayor wants in Madison is to have an active music and entertainment scene,"" Twigg said. ""One that's also diverse.""
Due to problems that arose with the club last year, some speculation had surfaced about whether the vacant building would become a vibrant club once again.
Ald. Mike Verveer, District 4, said city officials would sit down with the owners and tell them what is expected of them in terms of behavior guidelines.
