Student Board of Regents seat available; applications due today

The UW System Board of Regents is looking for a student to fill the Student Regent seat that will open on May 1, 2007. The deadline for submitting application materials is today. 

 

The 18-member board includes one student of the UW System who is appointed for a term of two years. The student must be 18 years of age, a resident of Wisconsin and enrolled at least half time in good academic standing. The student also needs to be enrolled for the full two-year term. 

 

To apply for the position, students must submit a cover letter outlining their vision for the Board of Regents and fill out the online application at the Governor's Boards and Commissions website, www.wisgov.state.wi.us. Then, send this information to: The Office of Gov. Jim Doyle, Attn: Mindy Walker, PO Box 7863, Madison, Wis. 53707-7863. 

 

Several candidates will be chosen for interviews and the finalists' names will be forwarded to Doyle for his selection.
