The Madison Police Department said Tuesday that Lucas Peerenboom, the victim in Saturday's hit-and-run accident, remains hospitalized and is in critical condition.
Peerenboom, 20, of Tomahawk, Wis., was reportedly struck down in a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Park and Regent Streets early Saturday morning, according to police. The MPD has yet to catch the suspect or suspects involved in the accident. They are currently searching for a dark-colored minivan.
Peerenboom, who is reportedly suffering from life-threatening injuries, was originally thought by some to be a UW-Madison student, but police said he is a Madison Area Technical College student.
Saturday's hit-and-run was the second incident this semester in which a victim was left with severe injuries. An earlier incident occurred Feb. 12 when UW-Madison student Patricia Wagner, 18, was struck in front of Memorial Union by Bradley Zika, who was reportedly drinking and driving at the time.
