Kenosha millionaire Dennis Troha was charged in court Thursday for illegally contributing money to Gov. Jim Doyle's campaign and lying to the FBI.
Troha, who recently severed ties to build a casino in Kenosha, allegedly gave nearly $500,000 to family members to donate to Doyle in order to get around state contribution limits, according to the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign.
""The indictments returned today contain allegations that we take very seriously. The people who made the contributions argue strenuously that the contributions were legitimate,"" Doyle said in a statement. ""Should the allegations be proven true, my campaign will immediately return the money.""
