Bo Ryan wins Adolph Rupp Cup

Although Bo Ryan's season did not end quite the way he imagined, he received a consolation prize Wednesday as he was awarded the Adolph Rupp Cup for national coach of the year.

Ryan led the men's basketball team to their first 30-win campaign and its first-ever No. 1 ranking this season. Since becoming head coach, he has achieved a 142-55 record overall, and his .708 winning percentage in the Big Ten is the highest career percentage in conference history for coaches with five years of experience.

The Adolph Rupp Cup began in 2004 and the previous winners of the award are Phil Marteli of St. Joe's, Bruce Weber of Illinois and Roy Williams of UNC.
