Stakeout lasts 10 hrs for V-Day robber

Madison police spent more than 10 hours Friday morning surrounding an apartment building where Valentine's Day robber Anthony Chancy was located.

The stakeout began at about 3 a.m. and took place at an apartment complex on Badger Lane, just south of the Beltline. Police said the situation ended peacefully at roughly 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.

According to police, Chancy, 36, was thought to have robbed several gas stations—including the Valentine's Day robberies—that have occurred in Madison over the last few months.

The following businesses, police said, were all victims of Chancy's reckless behavior: BP Gas near Fish Hatchery Road and E. Washington Avenue; Citgo on N. Sherman Avenue; Clark Station on Park Street and Open Pantry at Todd Drive and Rimrock Road.
