Steve S. started ""Letters in Bottles"" in early 2005 and was soon joined by his blogging cohort Brad V. With a definite conservative leaning, the two former UW-Madison students started out mostly by commenting on campus issues, bringing a student perspective to important happenings on campus.
Often blogging at breakneck speed—with multiple posts each day during its prime—""Letters in Bottles"" also delves deep into the field of city, state and national politics and has picked up quite a following.
When Steve and Brad last year they felt it was in the best interest of ""Letters in Bottles"" to stay with tradition and keep the blog in student hands, handing it off to Mike H. and David L.
Accounting for most of the posts in Steve and Brad's absence, Mike did a superb job commenting on Wisconsin politics and brought the blog further to the right. However, because readers were used to more frequent posting, a Facebook group titled ""Letters in Bottles 2.0"" emerged to convince Steve and Brad to reclaim the ""undisputed blog of record on the UW-Madison campus.""
Now, with Steve, Brad and Mike all at the helm, ""Letters in Bottles"" remains strong and up-to-date on current events.
