Rick’s CafAc ceases operation after four years

After four years of serving the local music community, Madison's music publication Rick's CafAc has announced it will cease operation due to declining revenues.  

 

Rick Tvedt, the publication's editor in chief, created Rick's CafAc in fall 2002 as a response to the lack of coverage of Madison-area musicians. The publication's first issue was printed January 2003, devoting four of 16 pages to live show coverage as well as profiling nine bands. Rick's CafAc has since produced an average of 40 pages per issue and 9,000 copies with over 400 bands on the register. 

 

Though Rick's CafAc will be no more, Tvedt will continue his work with the Madison Area Music Awards, which recognizes the achievements of local area musicians.
