Madison police capture ‘most wanted’ suspect

Anthony Amos, 32, was arrested Wednesday night on charges of drug possession with intent to deliver. Amos recently made his way onto Madison's Most Wanted list for his involvement with drugs.

According to the Madison Police Department, a stakeout occurred at a residence on the 3200 block of Prairie Road. Amos was found in the garage of the home when police tried to make contact with him. He did not cooperate, running back into the house.

MPD public information officer Mike Hanson said officers went ""in hot pursuit"" of Amos, who fled after police told him he was under arrest. Once police apprehended Amos, they found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The neighborhood that Amos was captured in is a residential neighborhood on the southwest side of Madison. Hanson said the arrest proves drug dealing can take place anywhere.

""It's only beneficial to us and the community,"" Hanson said. ""It's one more alleged drug dealer off the street.""
