The Associated Students of Madison's Student Services Finance Committee unanimously agreed on an evaluation form to be used for all future student organization contract status decisions Thursday night.
The form will be used in rehearing the UW-Madison's Roman Catholic Foundation request for contract status next Thursday.
The SSFC was ordered to create the form by a recent Student Judiciary ruling in favor of UWRCF, after SSFC denied UWRCF contract status.
The approval of the form was done with little debate, though committee members did have the option to appeal the ruling. Chair Zach Frey advised SSFC members against appealing the decision. Though Frey expressed some concerns with specific details in the ruling, he said he felt the overall decision was sound. Frey also said the Judiciary ruling did not assess any viewpoint neutrality violation claims in the case Nov. 26 because UWRCF withdrew its viewpoint neutrality complaints at the beginning of its hearing.
""Everyone feels the decision was very fair,"" SSFC Vice Chair Kellie Sanders said in regards to the ruling.
Sanders also said while there was now a form to deal with justifying denial of contract status, it might not change the way some members of SSFC vote when UWRCF presents its budget again. Sanders declined to speculate on whether she believed the UWRCF would be denied contract status again.
UWRCF will present its contract status application again to SSFC next week Thursday, the final SSFC meeting of the year.
SSFC member Sree Atluru's request for a leave of absence was also approved Thursday.
