A UW-Madison postdoctoral biochemistry researcher has been tapped to receive a national fellowship, the university reported Monday.
Matthew Allen will receive the Pathways to Independence"" Award, a fellowship sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. The honor will be extended to 58 scientists this year.
The fellowship will fund five years of research for Allen. The NIH intends the award to assist researchers like Allen in completing assisted research and eventually heading an independent research laboratory.
Allen's concentration is the investigation of chemical agents that may enhance medical imaging techniques, the university reported.
