Ohio State vs. Florida
Jan. 8, 2007, 7 p.m.
Going into the last week of the season, it was considered a long shot for Florida to even think about playing in the national championship. Then the unthinkable began to unravel. USC was upset by bitter rival UCLA, and Michigan sat at home and watched Florida jump them after the SEC Championship victory over Arkansas.
After all is said and done, it will be a terrific matchup of similar-style quarterbacks in Heisman Trophy-winner Troy Smith and the Gators' senior quarterback Chris Leak. Both have the ability to stretch defenses as they both can leave the pocket and run. This game will be an offensive explosion with superior speed and athleticism on both sides of the ball.
For Ohio State, Ted Ginn Jr. will look to have a big game as well as Anthony Gonzalez. For Florida, freshman wideout Percy Harvin and highly-touted freshman quarterback Tim Tebow could be the difference makers with their exciting and awesome play.
Final score: Florida comes from behind late to win 38 to 35.
