Another Madison bank was robbed Monday, Madison police reported, bringing the yearly bank robbery total to 25.
Police reported a man armed with a handgun robbed Amcore Bank, 3003 E. Washington Ave., and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a Madison Police statement.
The alleged robber was described as a black male with a mustache and a beard wearing a cream-colored jacket and a black stocking cap.
Witnesses last saw the suspect leaving the bank on foot. He has not been apprehended.
The incident is the latest in a record year for bank robberies centered mostly around Capitol Square and East Washington Avenue.
