Madison ex-cop dies in FBI training

FBI special agent and former Madison police officer Gregory Rahoi died as a result of training-related injuries, the FBI announced Thursday.  

 

Rahoi joined the Madison Police Department as a patrol officer in February 1994 and served the city for more than four years before leaving to pursue a special agent job with the FBI in April 1997.  

 

""It was heavy with sadness that we learned of Greg's passing,"" Police Chief Noble Wray said in a statement Wednesday. ""Greg was an excellent officer with the Madison Police Department. He was well-liked in our department and his personnel file is full of commendations for the work he performed and the good deeds he did for citizens.""
