Snow, falling temperatures mark start of winter

Unseasonably high temperatures came to an abrupt end Wednesday and it appears winter weather is here to stay in Madison.

According to various weather reports, the comfortable autumn temperature Madison residents felt in recent weeks will soon be an afterthought. Meteorologists expect temperatures to dip down to 25 degrees within the next few days.

December promises to be much colder with annual average highs of 32 degrees and lows of 12 degrees. Also, December on average has two inches of snowfall.

Madisonians experienced temperatures throughout November with highs in the 60s and lows in the teens, as well as a snow and sleet storm earlier in the month.
