Executive Director Beth Donley of the WiCell Research Institute, home to the National Stem Cell Bank that holds a majority of the world's federally funded stem cell lines, resigned from her position Thursday.
According to Carl Gulbrandsen, managing director of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, Donley is leaving to pursue further career interests in the private sector.
Guldbrandsen told the Wisconsin State Journal Donley had mentioned the prospect of pursuing jobs in the private arena, a line he's been hearing more and more from employees.
He called Donley a huge contributor to WARF.
