When most beers promise an additional flavor, be it chocolate, nut or berry, they simply mean a subtle aftertaste. BluCreek Brewing's Wild Blueberry Ale, however, laughs in this tradition's face. To say it tastes strongly of blueberries would be to do this beer a disservice.
Imagine that girl from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory who turned into a blueberry stayed a blue blob through her college years, during which she developed a horrible alcohol problem—possibly due to life as an anthropomorphic blueberry—and you then hooked up with her at a frat party while she was raging drunk—that is what this beer tastes like.
Mimicking what hard apple cider already does so well, Wild Blueberry Ale is less a beer, and more a hard blueberry drink. The problem is, after one bottle the ale's tartness becomes sickening. Feel free to try it, but, like the aforementioned blueberry-hookup scenario, you will probably regret it come morning.
