La Crosse student missing after Oktoberfest

Police and volunteers searched over the weekend for UW-La Crosse student and basketball player Luke Homan, a Brookfield native, missing since celebrating Oktoberfest in downtown La Crosse Friday.  

 

While approximately 100 volunteers scanned the downtown area, where Homan was last seen, police scanned the Mississippi River in patrol boats. In recent years, students from several universities near the river, including UW-La Crosse, have gone missing upon returning home at bar time.  

 

In the wake of his disappearance, several Facebook groups, some based in Madison networks, have sprung up, urging students with information on Homan's whereabouts to contact the creators.
