Legendary game show host Bob Barker will retire in June, following over 50 years in television.
Barker, 83, has been the host of ""The Price is Right"" since 1972. During his time on the show, he has become an icon of daytime television.
""The Price is Right"" has followed the same pattern for over 30 years, as contestants guess the price of everything from fine china to pickup trucks.
Excited members of ""The Price is Right"" crowd frequently hug and kiss the white-haired Barker after he exhorts them to ""Come on Down!"" from the audience. In addition, he has become popular among animal rights groups because of his daily send-off on the show.
""Help control the pet population,"" Barker has said for decades. ""Have your pets spayed or neutered.""
CBS is already planning a prime-time tribute to Barker that will air later this year. The network has not yet announced his replacement.
