Badger football linebacker Elijah Hodge dodged charges of possessing a stolen vehicle Friday.
Dane County District Attorney Brian Blanchard said there was not sufficient evidence to prove Hodge knew a moped was stolen.
UW hockey player Blake Geoffrion reported his moped and called police when he spotted it outside of the McClain Athletic Facility Sept. 19. An officer scouted the area and proceeded to arrest Hodge when he attempted drive away on the vehicle.
Hodge was booked into Dane County Jail and suspended from the team until the Big Ten opener Michigan game Sept. 23.
Hodge told authorities he bought the moped from a student preparing to transfer out of UW-Madison. He said he did not know the student's full name.
