Tool cancels concert, fans get full ticket refunds

Madison rock fans were crestfallen yesterday when Tool suddenly canceled their Kohl Center concert. The platinum-selling progressive metal band was scheduled to go on stage at 8 p.m., but an e-mail sent to ticket-holders less than eight hours in advance said the concert had been cancelled due to ""an illness in the band."" The e-mail also said that no make-up date would be scheduled.

Fans who purchased tickets through uwbadgers.com or over the phone will receive a full refund directly onto their credit cards. Those who bought tickets in person have to go to the Athletic Ticket Office starting Tuesday to receive their $42 or $57 refund.

Last Tuesday, Tool also cancelled a concert at the AT&T Center in San Antonio for health reasons, but has played four shows in the week since then. They are scheduled to perform next on Thursday at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
