Badger football linebacker and UW-Madison sophomore Elijah Hodge was arrested on a tentative felony charge of operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent Tuesday, Lt. Eric Holen of the UW-Madison Police Department confirmed Wednesday night.
Upon arrest Tuesday, Hodge was booked into the Dane County Jail but was later released. Holen said Hodge's court date may be announced today.
An individual reported a stolen moped to the UWPD but later saw it parked at the McClain Center Athletic Facility, 1426 Monroe St. The UWPD officer on duty surveyed the area and arrested Hodge when he attempted to leave on the moped.
UW Athletics spokesperson Justin Doherty was unavailable for comment Wednesday night regarding Hodge's current status on the team under the UW Athletics student-athlete discipline policy.
