The body of missing Japanese student Kenji Ohmi was found in Lake Mendota last month, ending a months-long search for the 20-year-old. Ohmi was last seen leaving his apartment building January 28.
A windsurfer spotted Ohmi's body on June 19 and called 911 from a lifeguard tower.
Ohmi's disappearance prompted search parties from the English as a Second Language Institute, where he studied, to scour the downtown area. His parents came to Madison in February to assist with the search. Posters seeking information about his disappearance were common on downtown kiosks and in coffeehouses.
