A measure which proposes forming a committee to reform Associated Students of Madison was overwhelmingly defeated in ASM's final student council meeting of the year Wednesday.
Most representatives did not approve of it, they felt reform should come through individual representatives and not a committee,\ said representative and UW-Madison freshman Sol Grosskopf.
The proposal, introduced by freshman class representative Tim Vliestra, the sole voter for the plan, would have appointed a committee to make changes within the current ASM system.
Grosskopf said flaws with the proposal included ""extra wording"" and a need for a ""concrete example"" of the committee's powers.
""There's a lot of amendments that needed to be made to it, but if those amendments would have been made I would have liked to have seen it pass,"" he said.
