Head coach Dean Duerst, the women's soccer head coach, announced yesterday that the team will play seven events in the spring, beginning March 25 when UW battles Western Michigan.
The Badgers ended their fall season in early November with a 1-0 loss to Marquette in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
The team won the 2005 Big Ten tournament with a 3-1 victory over the Michigan Wolverines when senior midfielder/forward Amy Vermeulen notched two goals.
The team will also play UW-Milwaukee and UW-Green Bay, as well as compete in an all-day tournament in Chicago. The teams are yet to be announced for that event.
Vermeulen led the Badgers with 33 points, with junior midfielder Kara Kabellis second with 20.
Senior midfielder was UW's assist leader with 10, followed by junior midfielder/forward Allison Preiss with eight and Vermeulen with seven.
Senior defenseman Jessica Ring was awarded the 2006 Woody Hayes National Scholar athlete award.
