A UW-Madison post-secondary education student was killed in a hit-and-run accident Sunday night on Verona Road. The victim was a transfer student from Madison Area Technical College.
According to a Madison Police Department press release, the accident took place on the Midvale/Verona Road exit ramp, off of the Eastbound Beltline.
MPD said the offending vehicle fled the scene of the accident after rear-ending a vehicle waiting to turn northbound onto Midvale Boulevard. The offending vehicle was later found at a location close to the site of the accident.

The investigation is still continuing and is being handled by Madison Police Traffic Specialists.
