UW-Madison will request the UW System Board of Regents allocate $7.8 million more to the already $106.9 million Camp Randall Stadium renovations project.

According to Alan Fish, UW-Madison associate vice chancellor for Facilities, Planning and Management, the higher costs will account for the increased cost of materials and the demolition and remodeling of the third level east-side concourse of Camp Randall.

The Associated Students of Madison elected new officials Monday night. UW-Madison junior Emily McWilliams will serve as ASM's chair and UW-Madison sophomore Cedric Lawson will be ASM's vice chair for the next academic year.

The election for the Shared Governance Committee Chair drew contention. The committee gets involved with campus issues like textbook prices and basketball ticket distribution.

Some said the new chair, UW-Madison Eyal Halamish, was only elected so the progressive Fuse party would have majority on council. Others said he deserved the position.

The Madison Police Department released the names and charges Monday of those arrested during Saturday's Mifflin Street Block Party.

According to Ald. Mike Verveer, District 4, most people who were taken to jail had bailed out by the end of the weekend. He added three had initial court appearances today, and said all were released on signature bonds.

Verveer said Benjamin Miller, who was charged with battery to a police officer, was charged with a misdemeanor.

There were also several arrests for possession of marijuana and cocaine, and one man was put on probation for alleged sexual assault.
