Darius Jones gets trial date for DWI

UW football defensive end Darius Jones will go to court Oct. 21.

Jones was cited July 21 for drunk driving and speeding by the Village of Shorewood Hills, which is located west of campus.

In a pre-trial conference Tuesday, Jones' attorney Charles Giesen requested a copy of a police videotape made during the time of the alleged crime.

Jones will have until the court date to consider a settlement offer that Shorewood Hills attorney Peter Julka declined to make public.

Jones was suspended for one game earlier this season because of the incident.
