Candidates Robbie Webber and Jason Stephany came out on top in the District 5 race, with 53 and 36 percent of the vote, respectively. Tim Corver, who virtually disappeared during the race by not campaigning and not returning reporters' calls, still grabbed 11 percent of the vote.
\With the invisible candidate, I wasn't too worried about getting through the primary,"" Webber said. ""I'm very much looking forward to moving ahead in the general election.""
Webber is a member of the Progressive Dane organization and program manager at the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin.
Stephany, a UW-Madison sophomore and state chair of the College Democrats, said he was still pleased with the amount of support he received, especially from students.
""We identify well with students and we're obviously going to work on increasing student turnout [for the general election],"" he said.
Corver could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
