Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton advocated an emergency contraceptive bill at a press conference at the state Capitol Wednesday.
The bill would guarantee sexual assault survivors access to emergency contraceptives in emergency rooms.
\I am pleased to endorse this effort to provide comprehensive medical treatment for women who are victims of sexual assault,"" Lawton said. ""It is unfortunate that legislation is necessary to ensure appropriate health care for women in every part of our state.""
