Scientists point to global warming effects

Compilation of more than 100 research studies on the effects of global warming reveals its dramatic effects on the environment, ranging from the timing of bird migration, to the thriving of a species in a location previously inhospitable to it, to the length of time that a plant remains in bloom. 

 

 

 

\All the major biomes on Earth have been affected by a temperature increase of just a little more than half a degree Celsius'most of which has occurred during the last two decades,"" said Eric Post, a professor at Penn State University. 

 

 

 

Because the extent of global warming varies around the world, it affects different species in different ways.

Additionally, researchers concluded that while the changes in climate brought about may affect some species immediately, such as the emergence of the first butterflies in the spring, the temperature changes may affect animals with longer life spans in more complicated, unforeseen ways.
